Form settings and going live

What the settings do, and how versions keep responses safe.

Settings

  • Form link: the address applicants use. Renaming the form does not change it. You can customise it in Settings until the first response arrives, then it is fixed so shared links keep working.
  • Reference numbers: give each completed response a reference like GRANT-0001 (see the Reference numbers guide).
  • Invite others: off until you turn it on. Applicants can then email colleagues to fill in a draft together (Chariform+ and Enterprise).
  • QR code: download a QR code for the form link to print or share.
  • Embed: copy a snippet to put the form on your own website.
  • Prefill API: create signed links with editable, locked or hidden field values (Chariform+ and Enterprise).
  • Archive: stop accepting responses. Can be restored.

Going live and versions

There is no publish button. A new form is live immediately, and saved edits apply to new visits. Each response stays linked to the form version the applicant started, so later edits do not alter responses already collected.
